Delete .NET 3.5 add-on from Firefox

The ass-hats at Microsoft decided to make the recent .NET 3.5 update silently install an add-on (plugin) in Firefox. No option to not install, and no option to uninstall in Firefox or anywhere else.

Luckily it’s easy to remove:

1. Regedit
2. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Mozilla\Firefox\extensions
3. Delete {20a82645-c095-46ed-80e3-08825760534b}
4. Restart Firefox

Bastards.

    Will you give more details on this? I am running vista and have had the most current firefox(with its autoupdates from I think 2.0 or something like that) and am on the current version 3.5. I don’t see such an extension. Is there a US version of the aforementioned extension key(shown on right side within directory on left)/folder(expanded from directory on left to include keys) to be deleted?

    AFAIK the key is always the same. The update that installs it was optional at one point, but I think it’s classed as a critical security update now so you should have it.

    The latest version includes a way to uninstall it from the Add-Ons windows.
